Earlier this year, the first annual  Moehaku 萌え博 2010 show was held at the Makuhari Messe Convention Center in Tokyo. Moehaku is an exhibition of itasha decorated cars. Itasha is a Japanese term for an otaku fad of decorating cars with  anime, manga, or video games characters.

At Moehaku the car decorations usually involved paint schemes and stickers and while decorated cars  are called itasha, decorated motorcycles are called itansha while decorated bicycles are  itachari.

Have you ever had yourself photographed wearing a kimono or yukata? Or in any kind of Japanese anime cosplay?  Way back in the late 1890’s visiting tourists who landed in Yokohama also wanted to have their photo’s taken wearing “native” wear.

These photos were taken from 1892-1895 at T. Enami’s fledgling photo studio on Benten Street in Yokohama.

Pretty Japanese fashion model and TV celebrity Moe Oshikiri 押切もえ was spotted earlier this summer in policewoman cosplay in the Harajuku district of Tokyo.   The 30 year old AneCan magazine model wore a fitting black blazer, hip hugging skirt with heels and a cute police lady hat to complete her transformation as she was chosen as an honorary police station caption for a day for the Tokyo Metropolitan police.

Moe-chan’s appointment as honorary police captain was to increase awareness of traffic accidents in the area.

Sora Aoi (Sola Aoi) 蒼井そら is a popular Japanese av idol who has crossed into mainstream entertainment.  The petite 155cm tall Tokyo native is a busty G-cup with measurements 90-58-83. Sora was scouted on the street to become a gravure idol in 2001 with Sora Aoi being her created stage name.  She soon entered the av world in 2002.

Team Evangelion Racing エヴァンゲリオンレーシング (Team Runa) made its racing debut at the 3rd round of the Super GT スーパーGT (formerly known as the All-Japan Grand Touring Car Championship Japan GT), held at the Fuji Speedway Circuit earlier this month.

The anime themed racing team entered under the GT300 category of this prestigious racing series fielding a Toyota Corolla Axio with Evangelion logos.  The cars and drivers garnered alot of attention but there was just as much attention by otaku fans to the two beautiful race queens in sexy cosplay outfits.  Read more...
