Pretty Japanese fashion model and race queen Nanao Arai 菜々緒 has made her gravure idol debut with her first release Four O’clock. Filmed in Yokohama, the 21 year old Nanao 菜々緒 attended the PR event last month in Akihabara and appeared in a sexy string blue bikini to the delight of her otaku fans.
In one of the DVD scenes, Nanao dressed up as a sexy home tutor which gives new meaning to studying hard.

Morinaga’s 森永 tried in 2001-2004 with its White Cola ホワイトコーラ Miracle Alpha. Pepsi tried in 2008 with this Pepsi White ペプシホワイト (a yogurt flavored drink). Now in 2010, Sapporo drinks are taking their turn with their White Cola のホワイトコーラ available at your local Tokyo conbini convenience stores.
The Sapporo White Cola bottle label is red so it looks like a Coca Cola bottle, but it is a white colored drink that has garnered negative reviews on the web. Let’s see how long this White Cola lasts.

Not content with just maid cafes in Akihabara, the PlanetPlan group has opened a new reflexology salon designed to relieve customers of stress with the help of Japanese ladies dressed in Minskirt police uniforms.
The salon called Action! Akiba Fumimomi Police あきば★ふみもみポリス, opened last weekend in the Akihabara section of Tokyo “to give workers some enjoyment away from the grind of their daily jobs and heal them,”
Patrons can have their shoulders, hands and feet massaged as well as get their ears cleaned while they lie on the women’s laps. The treatment menu includes the “basic punishment” or the “jail sentence.” For longer courses, customers can opt to be “rearrested.” Read more...
We all know of Maid cafes in Tokyo’s Akihabara district. One of the newest themed bars is the Samurai cafe which capitalizes on the “Sengoku” Boom. The Sengoku Style Cafe & Bar Mononopu is staffed by cute girls who wear a combination of maid costumes and samurai armor and caters to lonely history buffs.
Japanese Miniskirt police (minisuka police) ミニスカポリス was a legendary Japanese late night adult oriented cosplay variety show broadcast on TV Tokyo from July 10 1996 to November 9 2001.
The show initially featured sexy models wearing blue police uniforms and miniskirts who “arrested” men who had double-parked or jay-walked, etc. The sketch evolved into a typical late night TV show had become very popular by the late 1990s and was used as a stepping stone by many pretty Japanese women to enter the gravure idol world.
More from the Hello Kitty product range. This time from Japanese retailer Mouse Computer, in Akihabara which has it’s new “demee” brand. One of the new products is a small 16gm clip on Hello Kitty Music Player which started selling on September 19.
You can replace Hello Kitty’s trademark red ribbon with a flower that comes with the product, and her yellow nose lights up whenever you use the controls. Capitalizing on their popularity, the company has opened up its first maid themed establishment in Akihabara last August called “Refresh Club キャンディフルーツ リフレッシュクラブ where stressed out salarymen or otaku can relax enjoying the company of a maid.
The stores concept is that of providing the customer with a chance to relax the body and mind, something known as “Iyashikei” in Japan. Earlier this month, Japan held its first ever awards ceremony Seiyuu (voice actors used in anime and other media). The Seiyuu Awards were held at the Tokyo Anime Center and winners appeared on the red carpet after the show to offer thanks to their loyal otaku fans who were gathered outside the Center.
In addition to awards categories for acting roles, there were also awards for the “Special Achievement” category and a “Synergy” award, which is awarded to the best movie or series that voters felt made a strong use of voice talent.
Akihabara has a lot of things to see and buy. Now, while it’s not uncommon in Japan to see salesmen outside shops trying to entice customers to come in and browse, it is rare to see Akihabara salesmen rapping (or trying to rap) to entice customers to go visit their shops.
