Who’s on top of the Jpop charts during this first month of 2010?  Here we have Japan’s top 30 singles from CDTV for the week of January 17th week with diva Ayumi Hamasaki occupying number 1 with “You were… / BALLAD”.  Kana Nishino’s Dear…/Maybe drops to 25 while 9mm Parabellum Bullet’s “Inochi no Zenmai” rises to number 5.

Here’s how to make the Japanese version of Destiny’s Child. Have an audition to form a ‘wild and sexy” vocal dance group via NTV’s popular Uta Star audition program and pick the top 3.

Foxxi MisQ フォクシーミスク also known as “FQ”, is a female Japanese hip-hop trio comprising of CHIE (24 from Saitama) the “cool” one, YU-A (22 from Hokkaido) the “independent” one and DEM (24 from Osaka) the “simple” and “innocent” one. The group name comes from the words “Foxy!” and “misc”, as in “miscellaneous”. They debuted in January 2007 with the single A-L-I-V-E, followed by Luxury Ride featuring Zeebra, The FQ’s Style, Ultimate girls, a full album Gloss and their most recent single X.B.F.
