Every Wednesday on late night TV since April last year is comedian Ken Shimura’s 志村けん variety show called Shimura’s Shop 志村屋です (Fuji TV). Co-starring with him are various Japanese comedians and hot idols Yuka 優香 and Emi Kobayashi.

The show has various skits centered around the Shimura’s shop, the restaurant and one skit with Ken Shimura as the gravure idol doctor and Yuka and his nurse as they examine and talk to sexy Japanese gravure idols.

Featured in this post are Minami Matsuzaka 松坂南を , Miku Hosono 細野美紅, Mayuka and Junne Okada, Akiko Yoshida 吉田晃子, Sayuri Otomo 大友さゆり and Asami Tada 多田あさ.  (Look out for parts 2, 3 and 4 in future posts)

Please Muscat or Onegai Muscat  おねがい マスカット is a Japanese TV variety show with a twist. It first started airing in April 2008 and was created by the same folks at TV Osaka who created Neo Happy and DIVA.

In the show which follows the standard late night TV formula, instead of mainstream celebrities and talent, it features famous JAV idols and gravure idols who sing pop songs, perform comedy skits and compete in mindless eye candy competitions against their peers.

The show’s regular cast includes some the most popular AV idols from the S1 studio including, Sora Aoi 蒼井そら,  Asami Yuma 麻美ゆま, Akiho Yoshizawa 吉沢明歩, Sho Nishino 西野翔 , Rio (Tina Yuzuki),  Risa Kasumi かすみりさ, Mihiro みひろ,  Asami Ogawa 小川あさ美, Saki Kataoka 片岡さき, Megumi Sayama 佐山愛, Hatsune Minori 初音みの, Megu Fujiura 藤浦めぐ  Kaera Uehara 上原カエラ and Megumi Kei 恵けい.

The show also added some gravure idols to the regular cast including KONAN, Rika Kawamura 川村りか, Aika Ando 安藤あいか and Yuko Shoji 庄司ゆうこ.

Past guests to show have included AV idols Maria Ozawa 小澤マリア (who was slated to be a regular cast member but withdrew when she moved from the S1 studio), Ami あみ,   Ruru Anoa あのあるる, Kurumi Hina くるみひな, Lemon Mizutama 水玉レモン, Mocha モカ,  Emiru Momose 桃瀬えみる, Momoka Sugihara 杉原桃花 and gravure idols  Natsumi Kaho 夏実かほ, Urara Hanazono 花園うらら and Natsuki Wakasugi 若杉夏希.

The show is hosted by the lucky duo Ogi Hiraoka 小木博明 and Ken Yahagi 矢作兼 who beat out many other guys to be surrounded by pretty AV idols.

Vermilion Pleasure Night バミリオン・プレジャー・ナイト, , or VPN, was a short-lived Japanese late-night comedy and variety TV show  created by Yoshimasa Ishibashi.  It was aired on TV Tokyo for 6 months in 2000.  The show mixed animated and live action segments and was best known for its recurring segment, The Fuccons フッコン・ファミリー, which was about a typical American family (portrayed by mannequins).

Being a Japanese comedian is probably the best job in the world. You get act silly and get paid for it.  One of the perks is hosting or being invited to participate in wacky game shows on late night TV. Especially if the game involves you sliding across 30 hot and sexy Japanese bikini babes covered in some lotion (lubricant).  The fun continues with a stuffing contest and then a free for all with lots of lotion and stripping.  Watch the video before it gets removed from youtube.

NTV’s New Year’s Eve show 幹事さまぁ〜ず　女だらけの新年会やっちゃうのかよSP Idol Ichigo Matsuri 2008 literally translates as Idol Strawberry Festival 2008. It is also known as the Fresh Idol Gong Show where established bikini gravure idols like Yuko Ogura, Azusa Yamamoto , Suzanne Sae Yamamoto, Megumi Yasu, Chiriko Sakashita, Harumi Nemoto Mikie Hara, Hitomi Aizawa and even Ayako Nishikawa, judge new aspiring models in a gong show type format. All good fun especially if you don’t like watching traditional Japanese New Year TV shows and don’t have a cute Japanese girlfriend to go out with.
