Crystal Kay on the Way!
Crystal Kay Williams is a 20 year Jpop singer on the Sony Japan label who has a long career to look foward to.
Born to an African American father and a third-generation Zainichi (person of Korean descent born in Japan) mother in Yokohama, Kay is a fluent Japanese, native English speaker who has climbed the Jpop charts with her western R&B styled music.
To date she has released six albums, and her biggest hit was 2005’s “Koi ni Ochitara which was used in the drama Koi ni Ochitara: Boku no Seikō no Himitsu which peaked at #2 on the weekly charts. In 2006, Crystal Kay released a new album called Call me Miss… and has already released her first single off that album, “Kirakuni/Together”. “Kirakuni” is notable in that it is the first single lead song in Japan that is fully sung in English.

I believe that she is well integrated into Japanese society. Just recently, I heard from a friend that an old woman said that her biracial daughter resembles Crystal Kay in her younger years. This was at an Onsen!
Thank you Crystal Kay for opening up doors for more people to have positive recognition in Japan. Unfortunately, I can’t say the same thing about Bobby Orugoon.

Hi! i am half japanese and half black from london. and i think japan is the greatest country and is very postive. i think that Crystal Kay shows a great image that japan does not judge your. and also shows how different races do not need to be seprated but together!!!
