GalCir TV drama

Sometimes Japanese dramas have the wierdest story lines. Galcir which stands for “GAL CIRCLE” is one of those.

This NTV drama which aired earlier this year is about Kogals (young women with very unique tastes in fashion, music, and social activity) and the “circle” (a type of club or organization) which they belong.

The drama centers in Shibuya where are a group of kogals are “para para” dancing in their “circle” called “Angel Heart”. The wierd part is when a Japanese cowboy from Arizona arrives looking for a girl named Imoto. Think of it like a fish out of water or Crocodile Dundee type story.

If you can get past the silly premise and sterotypes of Cowboys and Indians, this comedy is quite enjoyable to watch. The drama stars Fujiki Naohito and Toda Erika. For a full review of the series read here.
