Japanese Beach Boys revisit
Back in 1997, a Fuji TV drama called Beach Boys popularised 2 male actors, Sorimachi Takashi and Takenouchi Yutaka. The show also helped the careers of 2 female actresses, Hirosue Ryoko and Inamori Izumi. Official TV page here. The show also became very popular in the rest of Asia. The synoposis of the show is as follows:
Ex-Olympic candidate swimmer, Hiromi (Takashi) goes to the beach after being thrown out of his girlfriend’s house. While there, he meets Kaito (Yutaka) an elite salaryman escaping the pressures of big city life and his girlfriend. Both of them arrive at a small beach house for their summer vacation and grow to like the place and the people very much.
The title song was sung by Sorimachi Takashi and Ritchie Sambora of Bon Jovi fame!
