Japanese Game of Life Bridal Version from Takara Tomy

Game of Life Japan Bridal Version Takara Tomy

Board game fans in Japan will be happy to hear that last month was the 40th anniversary of the Game of Life 人生ゲーム”Jinsei Game” in Japan. The Japanese version of the game is made by Takara Tomy which is celebrating the event by producing several themed boards which can be customized.

The first version that can be customized is the “Bridal Version 結婚”. You can have a big picture of you and your loved one on the box cover and decide what 56 of the 99 boxes on the board say. If you’re a gaijin married to a Japanese lady some of the boxes might say, for example, where you went and how much you spent on your first dates, cost of engagement rings, a Japanese wedding, babies, kids schooling, renting an apartment or building a house, stock purchases etc. which all sounds like lots of fun especially when it’s about you!

The custom boards will take 45 days (after receiving your photos and personal history) to make and costs about $350. Takara Tomy aims to sell 5,000 of the custom boards this year.
