The Brilliant Green

You may not have heard of them but The Brilliant Green is/was one of the best Japanese pop guitar bands of the late 90’s. The Kyoto group was formed in 1995 by guitarist Ryo Matsui, bassist Shunsaku Oda and singer Tomoko (Tommy) Kawase they signed to Sony Music Japan in 1997.

In 2001, Time Magazine had a global music special ranking The Brilliant Green amongst the top ten bands outside the US.

The group had two #1 singles in a row with There Will Be Love There (Aino Aru Basho in Japanese) which was the theme song to hit TV drama LoveAgain
