Miss Universe Japan 2007 Riyo Mori 森 理世
Riyo Mori,森 理世 a 20-year-old ballet dancer from Shizuoka Prefecture has been selected as the 2007 Miss Universe Japan. She will represent Japan in the Miss Universe competition to be held in Mexico at the end of May. The runner up in last Thursday’s selection was Rei Hamada 濱田玲, 22 (right), while third place went to 25-year-old model Akiko Chubachi 中鉢明子(red dress).
The Miss Universe pagaent has become more popular in Japan since the very beautiful Kurara Chibana (left) took second place in the 2006 contest.

Riyo Mori will make a good Miss Universe Japan. She is very graceful and more beautiful than her photos show.

kurara should have won last year. the woman that beat her looked like she had only one facial expression from all the surgery her face took.

she’s waaaaaaaaaaaaaay far from Kurara’s league, but I’m glad she won and beat those Latinas, I HATED last year’s plastic barbie. Kurara was robbed, period.

Miss Universe has lost it popularity in the US and many Western nations. So interestingly enough the winners tend to be from countries where women are 2nd class citizens or treated like sex objects.
A well educated bright and independed women is always sexier than some pretty face.

Congratulations to Riyo Mori. I didn’t get to watch the whole pagent, there was a baseball game on and I did not have the remote, but seeing what they ended up with in the last five…Riyo had something the others didn’t. It looked a little like some personality. Way to go!! Side note - who were the judes in the Miss USA pagent??? Drink Much?

I think that Miss Japan deserved to win more than the others. She is very beautifull inside and out. Congradulations to all Japan. We love you here in America.

Eu sou brasileira, Riyo ganhou da Natália Miss Brasil, aqui na américa Riyo é amada. I love Riyo. mereceu ganhar !Riyo Mori, mostrou que as orientais podem ser mais belas
que as latinas, Kurara merecia em 2006 mais Riyo em 2007 veio buscar o que tinha que ter levado para o Japan a coroa de Miss Universo.

Riyo Mori is sooooo not pretty.. Shes not UGLY but she ain’t pretty… I ain’t hating but its the truth… She does not deserve the CROWN to be Ms. Universe… I am asian myself and i am not proud of her winning just because shes ASIAN… Thats pretty freaken lame of you guys… I rather have a white or latina girl when if they look way prettier… IDC if she won for personailty wise or whatever… FOR A FACT I KNOW SHE DIDN’T WIN FOR HER LOOKS LOL… This is a competetinon for the whole wide UNIVERSE and more than half of the world don’t undertand why & how she won compared to the others whos rated a TEN inside and outside… whatever Riyo Mori just got lucky.. Even HYORI LEE “KOREAN SINGER” is a 100 times prettier and should have been Ms. UNIVERSE instead….
