Rocobo ロコボ ネーチャー

Remember Tamagotchi? Well Japan’s TakaraTomy has a produced a new Tamagotchi like desktop friend called Rocobo ロコボ ネーチャー. This little square robot pet acts just like a real pet, eating sleeping, needing attention etc. It’s advertised as “the moody person’s robot,” and Rocobo reacts to how you treat it. When it’s happy it will smile and sing a tune and when it’s angry it will bark. Roboco makes a great Christmas gift and comes in a set of 6 with each pet costing about 1,400 Yen.

I wonder if these guys actually move much - the videos seemed like they were hiding whether or not they actually move around, or if they were just immobile squares. I would hope they move :)

  2. Louis Says:

Wow, Tamagotchi. Those bring back memories. I remember when I was in grade school and kids used to have them clipped to their bookbags. From the videos, it looks like only the hands may flap.

Oh dear… I think I would probably either a) get bored and destroy it in some mildly amusing fashion, or b) get annoyed at the barking and destroy it in some mildly amusing fashion…

    Animal cruelty? bah!
