SoulHead Groovy
SoulHead are a hip hop, dance duo comprising of 2 sisters Yoshika and Tsugumi. Many recent Jpop artists have come from Okinawa in the far south, but SoulHead hail from the opposite direction, Hokkaido in northern Japan.
They started out in 2001 when they signed with SONY who sent them to Australia for a year to improve their English. Since their debut single “Step to the New World” in 2002, they have released 4 albums and 15 singles and have worked with such artists as Koda Kumi and SoulDOut. They have a very typical American production sound so if you like that type of sound with Japanese lyrics, have a listen.
