The worlds largest Melon pan (melon bun)
If you’ve ever visited a Japanese bakery, you will have probably tried a delicious Melon Pan メロンパン “Melon bread or Melon bun” which has a sweet taste of honeydew melon or a cantaloupe. The bread is especially popular with Japanese kids and anyone with a sweet tooth. A bakery in Hokkaido has made the world’s largest melon pan which is about 11 times the size of your average bun. The 30cm wide 1 kilogram bun is larger than a boy’s face and costs 1,500 Yen. The bakery touts that you can use the bun in place of a small birthday cake and then can write a birthday message in chocolate on the face of the bun.
