Yukie Nakama, actress, gravure idol

Yukie Nakama photoYukie Nakama 仲間 由紀恵 is a very popular celebrity who sucessfully moved from being a bikini model (gravure idol) into being a TV actress.

This lovely 27 year old originates from Okinawa (which seems to be a breeding ground of music and TV talent) and is probably best known for her Pocky TV commercials, TV show Gokusen and movie The Trick. And, as many idols have, she also released some music singles but none were big hits.

Check out over 180 photos of her from a big fansite here and her TV dramas here.
Though she started her career back in 1996, she still is considered one of the most beautiful women in Japan and earlier this summer she was voted #2 choice for ideal girlfriend (the winner was Aya Ueto). Poll results in Japanese here. More on ideal girlfriends (in English) from blog Foreign Dispatches.
